Two former Armwood football standouts recently suffered injuries practicing with their respective college teams, and it appears both players will miss the remainder of their respective collegiate seasons.
Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer said sophomore offensive lineman Matt Patchan suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday’s practice and will miss the remainder of the season, according to a report in the Gainesville Sun.
Meanwhile, USF Bulls coach Jim Leavitt said freshman defensive lineman Ryne Giddins suffered an ankle injury during practice and likely will miss the remainder of the season, according to a story on TBO.com’s Bulls Report.
Both players likely will apply for medical hardships, according to their respective coaches.
