There’s a press conference scheduled for 3 p.m. ET Sunday in Lubbock, Texas, which is bad news for USF fans hoping former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville would replace Jim Leavitt.
Tuberville was considered a prime big-name target for USF officials to go after in the immediate aftermath of Friday’s firing of Leavitt.
While Tuberville appears out of the mix, Tennessee Titans QB coach Craig Johnson has shown interest in the job.

He doesn’t appear to have a connection to Florida or the SE US. College Coaches need connections in the region that they will recruit in.
