Three more Hillsborough football players—linebackers Chris Oliver and Michael Scaglione and receiver Dixon Phillips—have made verbal commitments to college programs this week, Terriers coach Earl Garcia announced Wednesday.

A fourth Terriers player, sophomore nose tackle Earl Moore, received his first scholarship pitch this week when Florida State made him offer following the Seminoles’ recent Junior Days camp in Tallahassee.
Oliver will sign with Division II Tiffin University in Ohio while Scaglione and Phillips will sign with LaGrange College in Georgia and Illinois’ Quincy University, respectively. LaGrange is a Division III program while Quincy is a NAIA school in football.
With the addition of these three players, Hillsborough’s 2009 squad now boasts nine athletes who have made commitments to play college football.
Meanwhile, Moore, just a sophomore, landed his first offer when the Seminoles were impressed by the 6-foot-2, 255-pound sophomore. Moore started all of last season, where he recorded 31 solo tackles, 18 assists and five sacks. Garcia said with FSU making Moore an offer, others will soon follow.
