Another county football standout, junior running back Jordan Rich-Rogers, has turned up at a new school today.
On the first day of the new nine-week grading period for the district’s public schools, Rich-Rogers, Tampa Catholic’s leading rusher last season with 689 yards and 10 touchdowns, has enrolled at Gaither High, Cowboys coach Jason Stokes confirmed to the Tribune.
Unlike the transfer of wide receiver Richard Benjamin from Middleton to Tampa Bay Tech today, this is a private-to-public school switch. Gaither is in the assigned district for where Rich-Rogers lives.
Rich-Rogers and fellow former TC teammates Trevor Register, also a running back, and Kimo Vareen, a linebacker, withdrew from the school last week, Crusaders coach Bob Henriquez said. Register and Vareen, however, have yet to enroll at public school in the district.
