The massive earthquake that struck Haiti last week was certainly felt at USF.
Several USF student-athletes have Haitian roots, including a dozen players on last season’s football team.
Since the earthquake hit, causing thousands of deaths and basically paralyzing the small nation, the USF student-athletes with family and friends there have relied on TV and each other for information.
Communication remains spotty in Haiti, but there have been success stories, such as women’s basketball player Melissa Dalembert getting a text message from her father in Haiti saying he survived the earthquake.
