Former Plant quarterback Robert Marve will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his left knee. Purdue officials made the announcement earlier Thursday.
It’s the same knee Marve injured last spring, just after he announced his decision to transfer to Purdue.
“Robert Marve is a big part of our football family, he has worked extremely hard to be the great player that he is and our heart goes out to him,” Purdue head coach Danny Hope said in a statement. “Boilermaker Nation will rally behind him with all of its support through this tough time. I know he will continue to be an inspiration to his teammates and fans.”
Marve injured his knee in the first quarter of Purdue’s 31-20 loss to Toledo last Saturday. He was carted off the field and later returned to the sidelines dressed in street clothes.
