The recently released Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects baseball card set had a small glitch, and Topps is trying to rectify it for collectors.
The AFLAC High School All-American autographed cards inserted into packs of the BDP&P set were not sequentially numbered. The seven players involved were pitcher Archie Bradley of Broken Arrow, Okla. (seventh overall pick in 2011 draft, taken by the Diamondbacks); pitcher Dylan Bundy of Owasso, Okla. (fourth overall, Orioles); outfielder Larry Greene of Nashville, Ga. (39th overall, Phillies); third baseman/outfielder Travis Harrison of Tustin, Calif. (50th overall, Twins); shortstop Francisco Lindor of Montverde in Central Florida (eighth overall, Indians), pitcher Robert Stephenson of Martinez, Calif. (27th overall, Reds); and catcher Blake Swihart of Rio Rancho, N.M. (26th overall, Red Sox).
Topps decided to team with authentication company PSA to get these cards certified and graded for free (I’m guessing you will have to spring for the postage though).
This offer is only good for the AFLAC cards, and collectors have until July 1, 2012, to redeem it.
Topps officials say just mail the card (along with return address information) to their address (provided below). Spend the cash and send it delivery confirmation and certified mail, it won’t set you back too much.
Each card’s autograph will be examined for authenticity as well each card will be graded on PSA’s standard scale (1-10). And all graded cards will feature exclusive language on the descriptor tab.
