By now everyone knows DE Jason Pierre-Paul left school to enter the NFL draft. However, No. 90 will still be a defensive end next season for the Bulls as incoming transfer Claude Davis takes that jersey number.
Here are some other number changes courtesy of USF sports information director Chris Freet. This way you won’t be confused when spring practice starts:
** DB Jon Lejiste will wear No. 5, which belonged to Nate Allen last season, instead of No. 12.
** QB Evan Landi has changed from No. 12 to No. 9, worn by Theo Wilson last season. It will be interesting to see if Landi stays at QB; he voiced an interest in moving to WR during the International Bowl, but that could change with new coach Skip Holtz aboard.
** Isaac Virgin will wear Landi’s old No. 12 (so much for getting rid of the double-number syndrome that confuses announcers all the time).
** Steve Jacques now wears No. 72, Brandon Wilkinson is wearing Aaron Harris’ old No. 98 jersey, Curtis Weatherspoon will be No. 13 and incoming offensive lineman Austin Reiter is No. 78.
** Finally, as stated above, Davis is No. 90. If he plays like the last No. 90, USF fans should be satisfied.
