Zephyrhills volleyball coach Tiffany Bibby has resigned.
Bibby, who eventually wants to return to her home state of Texas, will remain at Zephyrhills as a physical education teacher.
In two varsity seasons, Bibby led the Bulldogs to a 45-12 record. The three seasons prior to Bibby’s tenure, the Bulldogs were 14-51. In 2006, the team finished fourth in the Sunshine Athletic Conference and tied for second last season, which included the program’s first victory against Hudson in nearly a decade.
Bibby, who spent two seasons as the Zephyrhills JV coach prior to her two seasons leading the varsity, was named the Tribune’s 2007 All-Pasco County Coach of the Year.
“It would be totally unfair for me to be gone all summer and then maybe, maybe not be here the following year, so that’s what we all decided,” Bibby said. “I talked to Craig Milburn and spoke with my principal [Gerri Painter] and that’s just what we decided.”
