A total of five Florida high school wrestlers found their way into InterMat’s 2009-10 preseason rankings, which listed the nation’s top 20 wrestlers in each of the 14 weight classes. Three of them wrestle for the Brandon Eagles.
Seniors Joe Cozart and Henry Chirino and sophomore Tyler Liberatore were the Eagles who found their way into the recently released rankings.
Cozart, an Iowa State commit and three-time state champ for the Eagles, earned the highest ranking of the three. He was ranked sixth at 152 pounds.
Chirino, a Miami American transfer who recently won the heavyweight title at the presitigious Super 32 Challenge, was ranked eighth at 285 pounds. Liberatore, a state champ as an eighth grader at Tampa Prep who took third for Brandon last year, was ranked 20th at 130 pounds.
