Former Gaither High and University of South Florida right-handed pitcher Daniel Thomas has signed with the Oakland Athletics, according to a press release from the big league organization.
Thomas, Oakland’s 13th-round selection in last month’s MLB draft, agreed to terms a week ago, according to the release. Terms of the deal were not released, nor was the minor league affiliate for which Thomas was assigned.
Thomas went 2-4 with a 4.21 ERA in 12 games (10 starts) for USF this past season.
