ST. PETERSBURG B.J. Upton crushed a grand slam in the fifth inning today to give the Rays an 8-1 lead against the free-falling Red Sox.
It was the 20th home run for Upton, which makes him and his brother Justin the only brothers in major league history with at least 20 home runs and 20 steals in the same season.
B.J. has 20 home runs and 27 steals.
Justin, an MVP candidate over in the National League, has 30 home runs and 20 stolen bases for the Diamondbacks.
That was B.J.’s first career grand slam, and it earned him a curtain call from the Rays fans here at the Trop.
