USF baseball coach Lelo Prado remains hopeful that many of the 10 Bulls—four on USF’s current roster and six incoming recruits—drafted in this week’s MLB draft will either return to school or enroll over the summer.
I’ll have more on that topic in Friday’s edition of The Tampa Tribune.
But what had him grinning Thursday was demolition crews knocking down some of the bleachers at Red McEwen Field.
“Every day they knock something down, it’s a good day for USF,’’ Prado said.
Following various construction delays on USF’s new baseball stadium this spring, some questioned if a new stadium was going to happen in time to start next season.
Once ‘The Red’ is completely demolished and the scraps hauled away, USF will begin building its new 2,500-seat stadium on the same site, with home plate and the press box area located in the area where right field was at ‘The Red.’
