Need to know: Son of former 14-year NHL defenseman Jeff Beukeboom, a four-time Stanley Cup winner. … Has represented Canada three times, 2010 Under-18 Worlds, 2009 Ivan Hlincka Memorial Tourament and with Team Ontario at the World Under-17 Challenge. … Registered hardest shot, 92.4 mph, at 2010 Top Prospects game. …

Comment from player personnel director Jim Hammett: “He’s a stay-at-home, shutdown defenseman. He plays in-your-face hockey, an antagonistic style of play. I compare him to Darius Kasparaitus . . . not the tallest guy but very thick and solid. He plays hard against you.’‘

Adam Janosik

Born: Sept. 7, 1992 in Spiska Nova Ves, Slovakia

Need to know: Finished his second year with Gatineau of the Quebec League scoring nine goals and 35 points in 63 games to go with 45 penalty minutes. … Had five goals in 10 playoff games.
