Hillsborough senior running back Rodney Johnson, who led the Terriers in rushing last season with 802 yards and eight touchdowns, has picked up three scholarship offers and will take visits to each school, coach Earl Garcia announced Tuesday.

The 5-foot-8, 176-pound Johnson has landed offers from Florida A&M, Murray State and Bethune-Cookman University. Johnson, whom Garcia said is now fully qualified under NCAA standards, will head to Tallahassee to visit FAMU this week, will travel to Murray, Ky., the following week and finish up with a trip to BCU in Daytona Beach.
Meanwhile, Terriers star quarterback Tarean Austin made a visit to Florida International University last weekend and will take his final official visit, with Western Kentucky, next week. He’s already been to New Mexico but now that Austin is fully qualified, he has received renewed interest from other Division I programs, including Nebraska.
Also for Hillsborough, receiver/linebacker Dixon Phillips has an offer from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Garcia said.
