Tampa Bay Tech quarterback Aaron Midthus has missed the Titans’ first two days of practice with a sprained right ankle and Tuesday was wearing an immobilizer on the injured leg. But even though he’s questionable for Friday’s first-round playoff game against Brandon, the senior says he’s playing.
“I’m playing no matter what,” Midthus said with conviction Tuesday. “No way I’m not playing. I’ve got great backs around me and a great line so I’ve got guys I can lean on.”
Titans coach Jayson Roberts said holding out Midthus from practice has been more for precautionary reasons. And since the injury came in last Thursday’s game against Plant City, Midthus has had the benefit of an extra day to recover.
TBT (7-3) hosts the Eagles (5-5) at Titans Stadium on Friday in the opening round of the Class 7A playoffs.
