Tampa Catholic senior defensive lineman Taylor Timmons landed arguably his most prestigious Division I college scholarship offer to date this week when the University of Central Florida made him an official pitch, Crusaders coach Bob Henriquez announced Friday.
“This is pretty big,” Henriquez said. “This could open the door to a lot of other schools.”
The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Timmons already had offers from Western Kentucky, Bowling Green and Washington State. But after earning high honors at a UCF camp over the summer, Timmons, who will also play on the offensive line for TC this fall, turned heads on the Knights’ staff.

You’re an hour and a half away from the school and don’t realize that they’re almost five years removed from having the “Golden” in their team name? C’mon, Bill.
