Tampa Catholic senior pitcher T.J. Owen has committed to Lurleen B. Wallace junior college in Alabama.
Owen had a team-high 20 appearances for the Crusaders during their run to the Class 3A state tournament. He went 4-1 with one save and posted a 3.50 ERA over 40 innings pitched in his final prep season in 2010.
Owen is the fourth player with ties to Hillsborough County heading to Lurleen B. Wallace next season. Leto’s Alberto Rodriguez and P.J. Leto and former Leto player Rolando Peraza also have signed with the program.
