Tampa Catholic sophomore offensive lineman Corey Martinez was named to the 2011 IMG All-Madden Team on Monday, joining a list of one of 28 of the nation’s top high school players.
These athletes were selected for their “exemplary on-field and classroom performance” during an invitation-only camp staged at IMG Academies in Bradenton, July 29-31, 2011. More than 130 athletes representing 30 states attended the camp, which was directed by former NFL, Florida State quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke. Athletes were invited to the camp based on their performance at one of 16 Under Armour High School Training Camps held throughout the country, or from a previous IMG Madden camp.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Martinez is expected to anchor the Crusaders’ offensive line this season as they attempt to return for another run at the state title game. He is one of only two sophomores who were selcted to this senior-dominated Madden team.
