Tampa Catholic offensive lineman Chaz Green and Crusaders quarterback Christian Green had what their coach, Bob Henriquez, called a “fantastic” official visit a the University of Florida last weekend.

The Greens, who are not related, as well as other Florida recruits met for a dinner with Gators head coach Urban Meyer. According to Henriquez, Meyer, who is taking a leave of absence this spring and summer because of health reasons, talked with the recruits mostly about non-football matters. And that, Henriquez says, is one way Meyer connects so well with his players.

“He [Meyer] has a way of seeing the big picture and relating to with his players,” henriquez said. “He’s just an exceptional recruiter in that way.”

Florida has been among the Greens’ finalists for some time now. Besides the Gators, Christian Green said his finalists are Georgia and Florida State. He has already visited UGA and plans a trip to Tallahassee on Jan. 29.

Just before TC reached the Class 2B state finals last month, the 6-foot-5, 295-pound Chaz Green said he was leaning toward Tennessee. But since coach Lane Kiffin left the Vols for the University of Southern California, Chaz said his decision was not as clear. Oddly enough, USC was also one of Chaz’s finalists and he still plans an official visit there Jan. 29.
