TBT’s Caldwell graduates early, heads to FIU

Tampa Bay Tech running back Lamarq Caldwell has taken the option to graduate from the school early in order to enroll at Florida International University, where he received a football scholarship.

Titans coach Jayson Roberts said Caldwell was eager to join FIU for preseason football workouts and conditioning as the Panthers prepare for spring drills. Caldwell is expected to join the squad next week, Roberts said.

The 5-11, 210-pound Caldwell was a versatile athlete for the Titans last fall, rushing for nearly 400 yards and 5 TDs and hauling in 18 catches for another 178 yards and one score. He also saw action at linebacker.
