TBT’s Caldwell commits to FIU

After taking a visit to the school last weekend, Tampa Bay Tech senior running back/linebacker Lamarq Caldwell has made a verbal commitment to Florida International University, Titans coach Jayson Roberts announced Monday.

“He liked the coaching staff and the fact they told him he could get a lot of playing time early,” Roberts said. “I think it was also a big attraction that we already have a Tech player there, (linebacker) Greg Hickman, who is playing and really tearing it up for them.”

The 5-foot-11, 210-pound Caldwell also had offers from the Naval Academy, the University of Buffalo and Grambling University.
