Just weeks into his new position as head football coach at Jesuit, James Harrell has added a big piece to his program with the hiring of a veteran assistant.
Longtime Armwood offensive coordinator Chris Taylor has joined the coaching staff at Jesuit, Harrell said Wednesday.
Taylor, who held the position for the past 13 years at Armwood, was coordinator during the Hawks’ most successful run in program history and helped Armwood win consecutive state titles in 2003 and 2004.
“He’s been in championship games and winning is important to him,” Harrell said. “Now I can focus more on defense.”
Although many of Jesuit’s athletes are currently involved with baseball, track and lacrosse, Harrell said at least 70 players are participating in strength and conditioning training.
