Tampa Visit Not On Houshmandzadeh’s Itinerary

TAMPA – Another hot rumor has been churned out of the NFL mill, but this one seems to have false legs.
Though it’s been reported that T.J. Houshmandzadeh will visit the Bucs on Sunday, The Tribune has learned that a stop in Tampa is not on the wide receiver’s itinerary.
The Bucs are among the teams that have expressed interest in Houshmandzadeh, but Houshmandzadeh has yet to mention the Bucs as one of the teams he’d be interested in joining.
He has mentioned a desire to play for either Seattle, Minnesota, the Giants or the Eagles, and he’s expected to make a decision on one of those teams on Sunday.
The Bucs are in the hunt for other receivers, including Pittsburgh’s Nate Washington and there is a strong chance the Bucs re-sign Michael Clayton, who is currently visiting other teams in an attempt to determine his value.

Hmm, the Tribune is reporting that he has not scheduled a visit while Adam Schefter and Pewter Report, two of the best sources around are reporting he is visiting.
I wonder who to believe…

Just because he didn’t mention Tampa doesn’t mean he’s not coming for a visit and interested in playing for the Bucs! ESPN, NFL.com, and PewterReport all are reporting that TJ is going to visit tomorrow, and they are a hell of a lot more credible than you Roy!

i suggest that if your going to report something that go against what pewterreport, adam sheffter, and espn are reporting, you might want to state how you know this.. just a thought, you think proffesional reporters would know this…

If he does come…They better not let him leave without becoming a Buc. This would be the splash play we need.

i like 2 out of 3 souces roy pewter report and adam sheftler have both confirmed he is coming tommorow so we’ll see what happens

Ok just because he hasn’t mentioned the Bucs as a possibility doesn’t mean he’s not coming. I bet he’ll show up too. He’d be stupid not to at least consider. We have no state taxes and can pay him more than any other team

Housh doesn’t have to visit for the Bucs to know he would be a great WR for us. They can still beat any other offer and see if that’s enough to get housh to get his mind right. We also need to be a major player for Chris Canty. He would be an awesome addition to our D-Line and we need a LDE. He’s 6’7” and 299. Wow!

haha. Roy Cummings is such a joke. Adam Shefter is THE best source in the league….he works for the NFL. And Pewter Report is NEVER wrong. Cummings and the Tribune, well they are constantly wrong and often slanted. Now that they ran Gruden/Allen out of town they may no longer be slanted, but it looks like they are still incompetent. I literally laughed out loud when I read this.

Even if he does show he is not going to sign here. NOBODY wants to play here and this new group is not going to make anyone the best offer. They will offer just to say we tried and be 50 million under the cap in November. Don’t be surprized to see this team in L.A.in 3 years.

I agree with the credibility of the other 3 sources, but I fear that Roy is right on this one. TJ has been somewhat adamant about who he want s to play for. He wants a ring & knows he won’t get it in Tampa Bay. It will take big bucks to sign TJ here. I believe he will end up a Giant(for less)like Bernard. It’s a shame we passed on Rocky. The Giants have the makings of a Superbowl winner again. Plaxico will be history & TJ is the one to fill the void he created. At this point it’s time to go after Derrick Ward. He is the mistake the Giants are making by letting go. Jacobs gets beat up and hurt, so their cupboard could be bare. We play them and Ward will be a big asset to the Bucs.

This is turning into a popularity contest. We don’t need an aging, possesion WR, with similar skills as the WR/TE we just gave 2 draft picks away for. We need Dline,CB,RB, not a popular name.

One more thing. Since Gruden won with Dungy’s Team (LOL), Morris will lose miserably with what’s left of Gruden’s Team. Once again, Gruden is on the losing end of things. I hear he is in the running to be Tiger’s new caddy.

Why would TJ want to play here? There is no one worth a darn to throw him the ball.

We tried will be a very common theme around one suck place.

So if T.J. wants to get a ring, why would he go to the seahawks, vikings or for that matter the eagles?
Suggest removalPor (Todd) on February 28, 2009 (Suggest removal)
TJ isn’t just a popular name..The man is one of the best in his possition at WR WHICH WE NEED !!!!!
Suggest removalPor (Todd) on February 28, 2009 (Suggest removal)
He just needs to see that football as $10,000.00 everytime its thrown to him. Damn whos throwing it…lol

Pick up TJ & McNabb !!! Get-R-Done !!
Suggest removalPor (Steve Duemig) on February 28, 2009 (Suggest removal)
It’s still Gruden’s fault
Suggest removalPor (WarrenV) on February 28, 2009 (Suggest removal)
Sorry guys but I don’t think TJ wants any part of playing for the Bucs so forget him. Here’s a situation where extreme stupidity may show it’s ugly head. Dummynik needs to forget about Clayton and put the money he would use to keep him in front of Nate Washington, then keep adding $$$ to the pile until Nate signs. This is the smart and definitive move and do it boldly and decisively. Spend the $ for the speedster, don’t waste it on Clayton. Let some other team try to resurrect the dud. I don’t claim to know how to do NFL contract deals but the objective is clear and the goal simple. How can one screw this up?

Michael Clayton just signed a 5-year with the Bucs!
Suggest removalPor (Todd) on March 01, 2009 (Suggest removal)
If thats true about Clayton I’m about to PUKE !!!!
Suggest removalPor (Steve Duemig) on March 01, 2009 (Suggest removal)
It’s true!
Suggest removalIt’s on Pewter Report and 620.
Por (Todd) on March 01, 2009 (Suggest removal)
Well guys there is our #2 WR. Micheal Clayton…LOL !!!!
Suggest removalPor (:Papajohn) on March 01, 2009 (Suggest removal)
WTF!!! Clayton signs fot 5-years!
It is true, Dominik is clueless. Clayton has only scored 2 TDs in the past 4 seasons and he gets a new 5 yr deal!?!?!!
DOMINIK YOU MORON!!!
