Bucs Report
Tampa Visit Not On Houshmandzadeh’s Itinerary

By ROY CUMMINGS

TAMPA – Another hot rumor has been churned out of the NFL mill, but this one seems to have false legs.

Though it’s been reported that T.J. Houshmandzadeh will visit the Bucs on Sunday, The Tribune has learned that a stop in Tampa is not on the wide receiver’s itinerary.

The Bucs are among the teams that have expressed interest in Houshmandzadeh, but Houshmandzadeh has yet to mention the Bucs as one of the teams he’d be interested in joining.

He has mentioned a desire to play for either Seattle, Minnesota, the Giants or the Eagles, and he’s expected to make a decision on one of those teams on Sunday.

The Bucs are in the hunt for other receivers, including Pittsburgh’s Nate Washington and there is a strong chance the Bucs re-sign Michael Clayton, who is currently visiting other teams in an attempt to determine his value.

If this team is going to be run heavy and long passes we are going to need a GREAT(not good) punter. The only long passes last season were made outside the pocket by Garcia just before he got pummeled. We will also need about 12 running backs to make it 16 games.

The Tampa Bay Buccanneers will finish 2-14 this year.

60 Million under the cap and you re-sign one of the worst receivers in the NFL (Clayton) then you sign Winslow?  Dont you need someone to throw it to him?  Dont you need a running back?  Dont you need a defensive line, linebackers, saftey?

Buc’s, you just lost 4 season ticket holders.

You can’t fix Stupid!  First you disseminate the team and then you don’t replace them. No FA signings.  Resigning Clayton of all people.  Can you imagine how the draft will be screwed up?

Okay you crybabies, shut your pie-holes. You sound like a bunch of women on the rag. You’re sickening. First, the new offense is going to be run-heavy with long ball passing game. Clayton is about the best blocking WR in the game and we will need that. Second of all, look at the distances on his rookie year. He was much better when we played long ball under Johnson. The draft only features 20 WR that ran a 4.3 - 4.49 at the Combine. We can get a speed guy there. We need Chris Canty more than anything. Try to write something positive and quit whining, you pushies. (That’s how Sean Connery would say it.)

tj’s coming to tampa to hit the 2001—one joke place aint happening

If they just resigned Micheal Clayton…..oh my gosh….i think I might actually think about not being a Buc fan. Why in the heck would we resign him and cut Ike Hilliard, who was twice as reliable? Geez….and don’t gimme that crap about Clayton being in Jon’s doghouse, he earned his spot in the doghouse. We were depending on him to be our No. 1 receiver going into his second year and the guy flat out lays an egg and never returns to his rookie form

Posted by  :Papajohn, Tampa on 02/28  at  11:22 PM

WTF!!! Clayton signs fot 5-years!

It is true, Dominik is clueless. Clayton has only scored 2 TDs in the past 4 seasons and he gets a new 5 yr deal!?!?!!

DOMINIK YOU MORON!!!

Well guys there is our #2 WR. Micheal Clayton…LOL !!!!

It’s true!
It’s on Pewter Report and 620.

Posted by  Todd, PSJ on 02/28  at  10:59 PM

If thats true about Clayton I’m about to PUKE !!!!

Posted by  Steve Duemig, A**hole U.S.A. on 02/28  at  10:53 PM

Michael Clayton just signed a 5-year with the Bucs!

Posted by  WarrenV, Hawaii on 02/28  at  10:30 PM

Sorry guys but I don’t think TJ wants any part of playing for the Bucs so forget him. Here’s a situation where extreme stupidity may show it’s ugly head. Dummynik needs to forget about Clayton and put the money he would use to keep him in front of Nate Washington, then keep adding $$$ to the pile until Nate signs. This is the smart and definitive move and do it boldly and decisively. Spend the $ for the speedster, don’t waste it on Clayton. Let some other team try to resurrect the dud. I don’t claim to know how to do NFL contract deals but the objective is clear and the goal simple. How can one screw this up?

Posted by  Steve Duemig, Lithia, FL on 02/28  at  10:07 PM

It’s still Gruden’s fault

Posted by  Todd, PSJ on 02/28  at  10:04 PM

Pick up TJ & McNabb !!! Get-R-Done !!

Posted by  Todd, PSJ on 02/28  at  10:02 PM

He just needs to see that football as $10,000.00 everytime its thrown to him. Damn whos throwing it…lol

Posted by  Todd, PSJ on 02/28  at  09:59 PM

TJ isn’t just a popular name..The man is one of the best in his possition at WR WHICH WE NEED !!!!!

Posted by  joe, brandon on 02/28  at  09:59 PM

So if T.J. wants to get a ring, why would he go to the seahawks, vikings or for that matter the eagles?

Posted by  ATLBUCFAN, Canton on 02/28  at  09:58 PM

We tried will be a very common theme around one suck place.

Posted by  :PapaJohn, Tampa on 02/28  at  09:54 PM

Why would TJ want to play here? There is no one worth a darn to throw him the ball.

Posted by  BucFandango, Sarasota on 02/28  at  09:52 PM

One more thing. Since Gruden won with Dungy’s Team (LOL), Morris will lose miserably with what’s left of Gruden’s Team. Once again, Gruden is on the losing end of things. I hear he is in the running to be Tiger’s new caddy.
