Tampa Prep senior baseball player Durin O’Linger has made a verbal commitment to Davidson College, Terrapins coach A.J. Hendrix confirmed.
“Davidson is getting a strong, hard working ballplayer and great young man,’’ Hendrix said.
The pitcher/first baseman had a 1.35 ERA in 51 innings pitched a year ago. At the plate, he hit .427 with 21 RBIs and 10 doubles for Middleton.
O’Linger has a 31 ACT with 5.6 weighted GPA. “While visiting Davidson, it just felt right,’’ O’Linger said. “Coach Cooke stressed the importance of the highest academic and athletic expecations.”
