With perhaps millions watching around the country, Tampa Catholic senior football stars Christian Green and Chaz Green announced their college commitments live on ESPNU Wednesday inside the school’s conference room.
Christian Green, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback/receiver, picked Florida State, choosing the Seminoles over Georgia.
Christian Green led TC to the Class 2B state championship this past season, completing 51 of 113 attempts for 663 passing yards, seven touchdown with no interceptions. He also rushed for 777 yards and 11 touchdowns. Green was also selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
Chaz Green, a 6-5, 295-pound offensive lineman, committed to Florida, choosing the Gators over Tennessee, Ohio State and the University of Southern California. He was leaning toward Tennessee, but that was before coach Lane Kiffin jumped ship to USC.
Green played in the Under Armour High School All-American game at Tropicana Field in January.
Both the Greens are among the nation’s top recruits according to multiple recruiting services.
