Crusaders pick up national ranking

It hasn’t taken long for the Tampa Catholic baseball team to make some noise under new Coach Pat Russo.
The Crusaders, who improved to 8-1 with Thursday’s mercy-rule shortened win over Brooks-DeBartolo, have become the third Hillsborough County program to pick up a national ranking. Tampa Catholic is No. 27 in the latest ESPN RISE FAB 50.
The Crusaders are joined in the poll by Alonso (No. 11) and Jesuit (No. 19).
Alonso (No. 18) also appears in the latest NHSBCA/Baseball America Top 25.
