Tampa Catholic coach Nancy Kroll joked she should have picked tails.
If she had, the Crusaders would have earned the No. 1 seed in next week’s 3A-District 10 tournament. Because of a necessary coin toss, St. Pete Catholic, which hosts the tournament, is the No. 1 seed.
The coin flip, held Tuesday morning, was necessary because both teams split head-to-head meetings, their only district losses of the season.
Tampa Catholic defeated St. Pete Catholic on Dec. 11 68-61. The Barons turned the tables last Wednesday with a 71-63 victory.
