Tampa Catholic has added to its depleted quarterback position.
Former Alonso back-up quarterback Luke Helms has transferred to Tampa Catholic, Alonso Coach Lee Meitzler said. According to Crusaders coach Bob Henriquez, Helms has not worked out with the team yet because his paperwork has not been completed.
Last season for the Ravens, Helms saw limited action as C.J. Bennett’s backup, completing 6-of-11 passes for 55 yards. Former Ravens wideout Dylan Fisher is projected to be Alonso’s starting quarterback.
Tampa Catholic graduated its starting quarterback for the past several seasons, Christian Green.
