Tampa Catholic opened their 2010 football season with a 9 a.m. workout.

More than 40 players ran through a variety of drills, and the Crusaders, state finalists two of the past three years, would have had more if not for freshmen orientation.
Head coach Bob Henriquez said the Crusaders currently have 47 varsity players on the roster, six of which missed the first practice Monday morning while they attended the orientation. One of those incoming freshman is expected to help add some quarterback depth.
Senior Conner Louis took snaps with the first team Monday and is the leader in the clubhouse for Christian Green’s (FSU) starting job. Starting fullback and Florida commit Hunter Joyer got some company in the backfield from newcomer Trevor Register.
Register, a sophomore who transferred from Riverview this summer, brings some speed. He competed on the Sharks track team last year as a freshman.
