Tampa Bay’s defense just sealed an impressive 23-20 victory against New Orleans at home.
The Bucs were able to intercept Saints QB Drew Brees three times and hold his team’s offense in check all afternoon. Saints RB Pierre Thomas had 11 carries for 34 yards, while Reggie Bush was limited to three carries for zero yards.
Tampa Bay’s victory keeps the Bucs in contention for its second consecutive NFC South title. The Bucs will have a chance to separate from the pack when they travel to play against Carolina next Monday night.
So now it’s time for your thoughts:
1. What are you general thoughts about the win?
2. Outside of the Giants, is there another team better than Tampa Bay in the NFC?
3. What impressed you most about Tampa Bay’s defense - pass rush or its secondary?
4. Did Jeff Garcia look sharp?
5. Is there any area you think Tampa Bay needs improvement?
6. What will it take for Tampa Bay to win the NFC South?

The Bucs out coached my Saints just like all of the other losses we had. Payton is a terrible coach. Gruden has always been a great coach and I wish he was coaching the Saints.
Anyway, good luck to playing the “big game” at your own house. I wish you guys well, I really do. It will be special for the Buc fans if it happens. I’ll cheer your Bucs on if they make it to the playoffs or championship game.

Well, I knew we would lose, but I was still wrong. I thought Payton would try to run the ball through Reggie; he didn’t even do that. Payton didn’t even try to run the ball, period. Thomas was showing signs of running on the Buc’s D, but Payton ignored it as usual and wouldn’t even give Deuce a better chance. Vilma should get Payton’s contract extension. Vilmas was worth every draft pick we gave up for him. He tooked those balls from the Bucs and won the battle; those takeaways weren’t given to us.

We have someone posing as Shannon Sharpe and someone as James Brown. Both are complete idiots from NY. We don’t need or want you here. Who have we beaten? All of the teams in our division and the whole NFC North. They have 3 good teams. We have 4. The toughest division in football and we’ve only lost once to any of them and that was at the hands of the officials. If we can beat either ATL or Car., we should win the division. 12-4 would be great. The Giants would be the only team that could get the Bucs out of Tampa.

Even though it was soggy and wet the “O” has been vanilla now for quite sometime. It’s time to teach some remedial recieving skills 101. In the begining of the year our O line was unstopable with run blocking but since - they’ve just be average. Jeff hasn’t taken alot of sacks this year but those that he has taken were coverage or “dancing sacks” when he moved all around the field. Let’s hope that we can break this vanilla trend as we will need to turn it on in the playoffs. Hey Nawleens fans - we split this year - give you that. But we are in the dance and you aren’t,regardless of crybaby Shockey. See you next year.

The Saints O line was outstanding. Brees was going to get his plays. No doubt about it, but our Defense held tough and never gave up. I would describe our pass rush as Relentless. Brees made plays, but there was pressure on him all day. Only got him 1 time, but he had to hurry every play. Somehow he still makes the completion. Fortunately, 3 of those completions were to the Bucs’ Secondary and that was the Ballgame. The Saints are one helluva good team. The Bucs should really be proud of that victory. The Saints are far better than Atlanta or Carolina. The Bucs can win out from here. Great Job Bucs. Great Heart Garcia. You couldn’t ask for a better group on Defense. Bucs Rule! #1!!!

Did anyone else hear about Monte leaving and gong to Tenn?

For everyone that continues to bash Garcia - he played great - ran for 42 yards and made key 1st downs when we needed them.

Bucs are pretenders…We will see in January…Who have they beaten this year?? Not anyone worth bragging about..

1. I love to win ugly and the good teams win the close ones. Secondary played huge at crunch time and Garcia’s running was also key.
2. Probably Dallas.
3. Secondary came through at crunch time.
4.” Heady” is better description. No interceptions and big 1st down runs. He was key. Rating was higher than Brees.
5. Secondary needs to start the game hungrier.
6. Split the next two and the rest will take care of itself. Or, JUST WIN ON MONDAY @ CAROLINA.
Posted by DMatt, JVille on 12/01 at 12:03 AM
1.The win was a team effort.
2.Offensively,Dallas, Carolina, Philly.
3.I was impressed how they shut down Bush and the run game. Also, other than Colston, the other talented receivers were kept in check.4.Garcia looked very sharp, he got the big play when needed, ran the ball well.5.We need other receivers to step up. Being one dimensional won’t win a play off game.Last year Galloway was shut down and we had no back up plan. Now we’re only relying on Bryant. Stevens need to learn how to stretch for the 1st down marker.6.Run the quick huddle offense, take chances on 4th and short, run trick plays, run more plays with Stevens, use his physical advantage, gee he’s 6’7, and make him aggressive.

Can’t wait till DUImig start the gruden bashing ,boy that kool aid taste great.

Typical win—defense played great; offense has chances to put the game away and didn’t; big play at the end goes the Bucs’ way. Having Phillips back at safety was HUGE. It is amazing that—after 6 years of Gruden and Allen—that we still don’t have a single offensive playmaker.
This is not an elite team, but it has character and grit. I just have a bad vision of one of those 31-9 losses in the playoffs. Plus, we have too many key parts to replace in the next 3 years - Barber, Brooks and Garcia.

Bucs are a great team, they can beat any team in the NFL. The D is incredible. They show up when they need to and are winning because of it. The offense is doing what it needs to which is run it and play keep away. They could score more and obviously need to work on that. Garcia did not have a good game but still pulled out a win. GO BUCS!

Hello! Did you people notice the weather conditions out there? Neither team had a great offensive day. The only reason why the Saints even got to 20 was because we handed them 10 points (strip ball led to fg and Barber phantom penaltay led directly to their TD). Our offense did what they had to do on a very poor field. We ran the ball down their throat and made enough plays to win the game. Last I heard, that’s all that matters. This team compares very favorably to the 2002 team, although this team has a better O and the 2002 team had a better D.

we held brees and the saints #1 offense in check and we got a W…thats what matters…who cares if we didnt get a lot of yards on offense..we didnt turn the ball over and if im not mistakin we had no penalties…defense wins championships…we are 9-3…one win away from back to back div titles…6-0 at home…no complaints here…GO BUCS!!!!

Uggggggggggggggggggggly Offense. The Bucs Offense is OFFENSIVE! If you get my drift. Great D and Special Teams. As much as I hate to agree with Shannon Sharpe let me just say this: the Bucs OFFENSE is as bad on offense as Shannon Sharpe is in his JOB as an analyst.

The Saints are not a sorry team, they have the BEST O in the NFL! We did a great job containing them. Just because we stuggle to beat “sorry” teams doesnt mean we arent going to win in January.
Posted by Shannon Sharpe, New York, NY on 11/30 at 06:51 PM
If this team struggles with a sorry Saint team, then what will happen when they play a real team? Once again, it will be one and out in January..
Monte, leave while you are on top..The D is getting old and the future here does not look bright..Go enough working with your son..Just don’t forget, you can’t spell Citrus Bowl without UT..

The weather made both teams change there game plan, the bucs did it better. Brees is the best passer in the NFL right now and they did a damn good job of stopping him. Hats off the the defense, they did what they had to do when it was needed.
Posted by ref813, memphis on 11/30 at 05:22 PM
I can’t give the D too much credit because they gave up many more yards than their average which was about 275. Brees alone did that. I guess the #1 O will always be tough to stop. They beat them and that’s all that matters. Let this be a lesson to Bucs fans. Don’t go around talking trash on other teams’ sites. The Saints fans did it and they will have to be very lucky to make the playoffs. It’s almost as classless as constantly bashing our team.

1.We continue to do what we have to to win. 2.I don’t think any team other than the Giants and maybe the Cowboys and Panthers are as good or better. 3.The pass rush and secondary mess up at times. There was decent pressure on several plays, but I’d have to give it to the secondary-several passes batted down. Other than Barber’s penalty that took away what would have been int #4, they were pretty good. 4.He got it done. Not too sharp, but I don’t know that that was his fault. 5.The D could play better. The WRs could get open more and catch more balls. 6. Too obvious-win at least 2 or 3 of 5.

Great team win!! GOOD JOB DEFENSE!! GOOD JOB MONTE!! you guys kept the game close and won it, Garcia is in great shape and he didn’t have a huge day as far as numbers go, but he didn’t make any mistakes which is why i still think he’s the best QB we’ve ever had!. Caddy good job on that TD!!
Galloway need to heal a bit more he droped that one pass which could have been huge, ronde had ups and downs, but overall great game, another heart attack but way 2 go!
Posted by raw_as_fuq, Largo on 11/30 at 04:55 PM
Where are the Saints fans at now?
1)Secondary played great especially Ronde Barber.
2)Maybe the Cowboys if they doing what the are doing.
3)Secondary, but the pass rush did good pressuring Brees.
4)He held the ball to long, but he was good enough to get the W.
5)Garcia could try to get the ball out of his hands quicker.
6)Win the next 2 games.

Our defense is good but can be better-we cannot go into next season with some people at key positions. We have alot of young players that is great but some of the old ones have lose a step or two.Cato June remind me of Neece-he does enough just to start. He showed up sunday for once-you have not heard this guy name at all until this past game.Somebody needs to get Adam in the weight room-speed alone won’t get it done-we need a bull rush from him.Barber is playing o.k but not another year as your starter.
Caddy look stronger-a little quicker also.If he make it through this year with no problems he will beat out Grahm next season
