The Tampa Bay History Center will welcome former Negro Leagues baseball players Walter “Dirk” Gibbons, Clifford “Quack” Brown, Raydell “Lefty” Maddix and Billy Reed as part of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum’s travelling exhibit, Shades of Greatness. on February 20.
Dr. Raymond Doswell, Vice President of Curatorial Services of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri will begin the program at 3:00 P.M. with a discussion of the multimedia exhibit that reflects the history of the Negro Leagues from roughly 1920 through 1960, and then will conclude with a question and answer session with the panel of players.
The exhibition, a collection of art and photos, will be on display until April 25.
The event is free and open to the public.
