The county’s annual all-star basketball games are set for this weekend.
The Wilkes & McHugh United Negro College Fund 28th Annual All-Star High School Basketball Classic wil take place Friday at Jefferson High at 6 p.m.
The event, which raises funds for college scholarships for students in Hillsborough County and is presented by the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, features two basketball games - one boys and one girls - with teams composed of hand-picked senior players from the county’s east side and west side schools. There will also be a three-point shootout and a slam-dunk contest.
Then on Saturday, the annual Tampa Bay Basketball Coaches Association East vs. West All-Star game will be held at Tampa Prep at 7 p.m. The boys-only game also features a slam-dunk and three-point shooting contest.
