Former USF defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul finally came to terms with the Giants on Saturday night, signing a 5-year deal worth $20 million. ESPN is reporting the deal includes $11.6 million in guaranteed money.
Pierre-Paul avoided becoming the Giants’ first rookie to hold out since second-round pick Corey Webster missed five practices in 2005 prior to signing.
Earlier Saturday, the New York Times’ “Fifth Down’’ blog caught up with former Giants great Michael Strahan, a pass-rush specialist like Pierre-Paul, and asked him what he knew about Pierre-Paul.
“I know he can do some back flips,’’ Strahan told “The Fifth Down.’’ “I’m interested in seeing him on the field. We’ll see if he can play pretty soon.’’
Yes he will. Pierre-Paul is scheduled to hit the practice field with the Giants on Sunday when they open training camp.
