The Tampa Bay Storm signed former Land O’ Lakes and Florida State quarterback Drew Weatherford on Monday, hoping he will push BJ Hall for the backup spot on the depth chart behind starter Brett Dietz.
Weatherford was one of four players added to the Storm’s roster in recent days. Also signing were offensive linemen Carnell Stewart and Shelly Houston and defensive back Michael Hawthorne. Houston played collegiately at USF.
Tampa Bay opened training camp Monday with two workouts at Skyway Park in Tampa.
