As reported tonight on News Channel 8, a Lakeland man claiming to be the biggest steroid seller in Central Florida said that he sold mainly to professional athletes, and specifically named the Washington Capitals and the Washington Nationals as employing clients, but no word on how many. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said during the press conference that the suspect in question was asked on several occasions about specific athletes, but only came back with the Capitals and Nationals. Judd said investigators asked the question several times because they knew the kind of situation it was going to create and to ensure that it was not the Polk County Sheriff’s Department that was being quoted as such, but rather the suspect.
Keep your eyes on this one, because it’s going to create a storm in hockey because there has never been any kind of talks or reports or even any suggestions that steroids was any kind of an issue in hockey locker rooms.

FINALLY! Something that will put hockey on the map with all the other big sports!

This guy is just trying for a deal. Since the testing program started how many guys in the NHL have been caught? ONE! Steriods don’t benefit hockey players. Steroids are about building muscle (primarily upper body strength) that is not the thing that truely helps hockey. You want some (gotta have it for that slap shot) but in hockey it is all about your core and lower body more than anything - not upper body strength. The guy probably just named the only two teams in Washington he could think of (want attention focus your claims on teams in the heart of the nations capital).

Steroids in hockey, interesting! - so is that what causes so many fights - Roid Rage?

Geographer, I disagree with you. Roids will work at what ever muscle mass you work out. If you work on your core and legs, then the benefit will accrue there.
I don’t know that I would whitewash hockey, even though I played for over 20 years. It’s possible that there is drug use, but that has to be proven yet.
The word of someone who isn’t naming names that can be checked and verified is of very little value.

True hockey players are big, alot of peopel are suprised at how big they really are, but I never saw hockey as a sport where players use performance enhancers. I don’t think they make a drug for the skills required to play the game like Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin, Lecavalier, Kovalchyuk, Hossa, Stamkos, etc… Alot of it is knowledge and reflex.

Yo, this guy sold steriods at Golds gym. Do you know how many cops work out there? wonder if any of the guys knew? The dude sold roids back in high school. That was 16 years ago. Im surprised he’s just now getting busted. Dosnt pay to be a drug dealer. As soon as you p’z someone off they rat u out.
