Count Land O’ Lakes quarterback Stephen Weatherford in as one of the elite signal callers in the are. The junior will head to Orlando’s Wide World of Sports complex for this weekend’s EA Sports Elite 11 quarterback regional camp.
Weatherford, who completed 128 of 206 passes for 2.052 yards, 27 TDs and 5 interceptions, will join the likes of Phillip Ely (Plant) and Quentin Williams (Jefferson).
Participation in a regional Elite 11 makes one eligible to go to the national Elite 11 event, a four-day event in Southern California, which will take place later in the year.
Being an alumnus of this camp could mean good things. Past campers include New York Jets rookie Mark Sanchez, Tennessee Titans’ Vince Young, Detroit Lions rookie Matthew Stafford and Florida QB Tim Tebow.
According to ESPN Rise, Teddy Bridgewater of Miami Northwestern and Jeff Driskel of Oviedo Hagerty – two of the most highly recruited QBs in the country – will also be in attendance.
