When Steinbrenner High hosts it signing day event Wednesday morning, Chris Williams will be there to partake. The Warriors’ right-hand pitcher will sign a national letter-of-intent to play baseball at Saint Leo University.
Williams, who went 7-2 in 12 appearances, pitched 54 innings and earned a 2.20 ERA. In the process, he struck out a team-best 39 batters. He also no-hit Lennard in a 12-2, five-inning win last season.
Williams will join teammate Gerald Bautista, who is signing a letter-of-intent to play at the University of Florida, during Wednesday’s festivities.
