Spoto’s offense can put more on scoreboard

One offensive touchdown in a 13-12 loss to Alonso last week wasn’t indicative of Spoto’s offensive capabilities.

Head coach Dale Caparaso said the Spartans totaled 340 yards on offense and reached the red zone four time. They had a touchdown called back and missed three field goal attempts, albeit the kicker (Alex Eisman) joined the team on Tuesday. In addition, starting quarterback Jaylon Davis injured his shoulder early in the game.

With three new offensive lineman, two new receivers and a second string quarterback transfer from out-of-state, Caparaso said it will take a few weeks to get the offense clicking.
