Former Plant City running back Sirchauncey Holloway, now a junior competing for Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., was named Big South Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 126 yards and four touchdowns in the Flames’ 57-0 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.
It’s the second time in Holloway’s career that he has rushed for 100 yards in a game and the fourth time since joining the program that he has scored two or more touchdowns in a game.
Holloway is the first Flame since Eugene Goodman to rush for four touchdowns in a game. He also tied a Big South single-game record with four rushing touchdowns. Only four other players in league history have achieved this.
Liberty will open up its defense of its Big South crown against Gardner-Webb (N.C.) at Spangler Stadium on Saturday at 4 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN3.com.
