Bucs Report
Simms Shows

CELEBRATION - True to his word, Chris Simms has arrived at Bucs training camp.

He came in about 15 minutes ago, riding in on golf cart with receiver Ike Hilliard in the back.

A lot of the top players are starting to arrive as the 4 p.m. deadline for reporting is nearing.

We’ve had no word yet on whether the three remaining unsigned draft picks will be here, but the likelihood is they will. A Bucs source said the team was nearing completion on deals for that group, which includes cornerback Aqib Talib (first round), wide receiver Dexter Jackson (second round) and quarterback Josh Johnson (fifth round).

There also appears to be some movement now on a deal for disgruntled DE Greg White. White is looking for something better than the one year, $370,000 tender the Bucs have offered him. He and the Bucs have talked about a long-term deal and a shorter term deal.

We’ll let you know if White or anyone else agrees to terms just as soon as we know.

When Griese went down with his knee problem several years ago and Chris stepped in - he went to management and said - part of what it’s gonna take to sign me and make me happy is to get rid of Griese (besides the money).  Management bit on this and sent Griese packing to the Bears and signed Chris.  Well the little experiment failed and Chris went down with his spleenectomy and then suffered some mental dilemma’s due to almost dying out there on the field.  QB’s are people who have to have high confidence levels in order to operate efficiently.  Chris was working on “E” at that point and is just now regaining his moxy.  I wish him luck in wherever he lands.  But don’t kinock over the trash can on your way out the door.

Chris is not stupid - he knows what he has to do in order to play QB somewhere.  He’s in a bit of a catch 22 and he’s causing some stir.  Chis wants out of Tampa, so why not show up at camp and show your best.  In the mean time, why not let the comments fly about what Allen said about Farve.  He’s working both ends of the table.  He’s creating an end to his time in Tampa.

I think that it would be great for Simms to be on an NFL South team, after all, he can’t throw the ball over the “O” line very often and when he does, it is intercepted.

Go get em’ Simms.  As a fan who was at the sleen game I wish you nothing but the best here in Tampa or somewhere else…as long as it isn’t in another NFC South team.

Well Bucs Fans This is George Hicks who lives up near Dallas. These fans up here don’t want Brett Farve to join the Bucs bacause it would take the Cowboys say it is there year to go and win the Superbowl down in Tampa. Well as a beloved Buc from the first Practice the first year, and thru all those terrible years. Maybe, just Maybe the Bucs could host the Superbowl this season. If they stay healthly and they come together and play hard. This dream could be happening again. Didn’t we win the superbowl in 2002! GO BUCS
