Sickles Ironman will play in the Patriot League at the next level.

The Gryphons Scott O’Donoghue committed to Holy Cross earlier Monday after visiting the campus over the weekend. O’Donoghue, a two-way player for Sickles, led the team in tackling the past two seasons. He also filled in at quarterback, where he started in the Gryphons near upset of Armwood in the first round of the playoffs.
This past season, O’Donoghue, a Tribune All-Hillsborough County Football first team selection, had 137 tackles, five sacks and one interception at the linebacker position. He was also the Gryphons fourth-leading rusher with 53 carries for 356 yards and one touchdown.
“There’s gonna be a big hole to fill on this kid,” Sickles coach Pat O’Brien said.
