Sickles head football coach Pat O’Brien is the latest in the county to be honored by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fresh off his team’s come-from-behind district victory against Boca Ciega, O’Brien has been named the Buccaneers Coach of the Week for Week 6 of the 2009 season. Bucs head coach Raheem Morris will present O’Brien with a certificate and a personalized football following Thursday morning’s walkthrough at One Buccaneer Place. Prior to practice, O’Brien and guests will tour the team’s state-of-the-art training facility. The coach will receive $1,000 for his high school football program and be featured on Buccaneers.com.
Last Friday, Sickles defeated Boca Ciega 31-28 in overtime, after trailing 22-7 at halftime. The Gryphons, 5-1 for the first time in school history, host Durant (5-1) Friday night.
