Not sure if Amber Henson loves a parade, but Parade certainly loves her.
For the second-consecutive year, the Sickles 6-foot-4 junior center has been honored by Parade Magazine as a member of its 34th annual All-America High School Girls Basketball Team. Henson is one of only eight girls on the 40-player roster to make the team two years in a row.

After helping lead the Gryphons to the regional finals for the first time in school history, Henson made Parade’s third team. Last year, she was a fourth-team selection.
Henson led Sickles with 22.1 points, 12.1 rebounds and 4.9 blocks per game this season. In helping guide the Gryphons deep into the postseason, Henson recorded 20 double-doubles. Her 24-point effort against Hillsborough in the regional semifinals helped propel Sickles to the regional finals, where they lost to Boca Ciega 61-46.
Earlier this month, Henson committed to Duke University, selecting the Blue Devils over North Carolina, Florida, Maryland, Stanford and Texas.
Henson is the lone representative from Florida on this year’s All-America team. Parade’s basketball edition will be in Sunday’s paper.
