Tampa Bay Tech’s football team has the talent to win. The Titans also have the speed and size. And they’re coming off a huge, come-from-behind, confidence-building victory over 2008 Class 4A state champion Plant.

Question is, do the Titans believe they can go to Seffner on Thursday and beat Armwood on the Hawks’ home turf?
From the looks of their practice sessions this week over on Orient Road, the 5A Titans sure seem confident. Yes, Armwood hasn’t lost at home since a three-point loss to Lake Gibson in 2002. But if any team in this county can beat the two-time 4A state champion Hawks this season, it’s TBT.
Of course, Armwood is Armwood. The Hwaks have reloaded with speed, size and talent, particularly at quarterback, where transfer Josh Grady (formerly of Freedom) comes in this fall with the ability to fully implement offensive cooridantor Chris Taylor’s spread offense to the fullest. The Hawks are out to prove they will have something to say about who will take this year’s 4A crown. And believe us when we say, few, if any teams, practice with the intensity of the Hawks.
The game will be televised live on Brighthouse but right now, you can see a photo gallery of practice sessions from both teams here: http://www2.tbo.com/photoalbum/2009/sep/16/tampa-bay-tech-vs-armwood-pregame-preparations/
