Paced by three runners in the top 10—Josh Keenan, Noah Lambert and Francois Blasini—the Seffner Christian boys cross country team won its first ever Bay Conference on Thursday at War Memorial Park in St. Petersburg.
Keenan took third in a 5-kilometer best of 16 minutes, 30 seconds, Lambert was sixth in his own personal record of 17:08 amd Blasini earned 10th in 17:46. SCA’s other scorers were Conner Klorer (11th) and David Wright (17th). Keenan and Lambert are both junior homeschoolers and competing in their first season of cross country.
SCA scored 47 points to beat runner-up Shorecrest by 16. Tampa’s Cambridge Christian was seventh with 185.
SCA’s girls team was sixth in their meet but was racing without No. 1 runner Sabrina Whiting, who competed as an individual in Tuesday’s county championships.
