TAMPA – There’s a new buzz in BucLand over the report from rivals.com that claims Bucs OC Greg Olson talked with new USC coach Lane Kiffin about becoming the Trojans OC.
Many are wondering why Olson would even consider jumping ship after being promoted last year, but the answer seems rather obvious.
Olson’s contract with the Bucs expires after the 2010 season and with talks aimed at creating a new collective bargaining agreement staggering along there is nothing to guarantee he’ll still have a job after that.
This is one of the prime reasons why linebackers coach Joe Barry left the Bucs for the exact same position with USC. More than anything, Barry was looking for some security. Olson, no doubt, was looking for the same thing.

No position with the Bucs would be a safe bet for any length of time, player or coach. The Glazer commitment to anything is suspect!
