Lot of the same story in that second period for Tampa Bay. Whole lot of action, yet, still trailing by two goals. The shot clock has Tampa Bay ahead 37-21 after 40 minutes, but as I said in after the first period, the scoreboard is the only one that matters and that one reads Florida 3, Tampa Bay 1.
The 21 shots on goal in the second period is a season-high, the previous was 18 this season, done twice. The team record is 25, accomplished twice, the last coming Nov. 28, 2006 vs. Washington.
One bit of good news here is that Radim Vrbata finally found the back of the net. It’s his first goal in 34 games, with his last coming Feb. 28, 2008 against Los Angeles when he was still with Phoenix.
The Lightning record for shots on goal in a game is 51, accomplished on Jan. 17, 2004, against Roberto Luongo and the Florida Panthers. Tampa Bay lost that game and only scored one goal.

KarlS you should have stayed - They played great in the 3rd tied it up in the final minutes - and exciting period - I think they played good the whole game, 52 shots on goal - but I will tell you I HATE SHOOT OUTS! not just because we lose them, would just rather they play more OT to end the game. And WOO HOO Vrbata found the back of the net - boy has he lite up his game since Coach Toc took over - and then R2 scores - This team is coming around… looking forward to Fri nites game

This team is beginning to remind me of the pre-Davidson days (maybe I should say the “pre-Adrdychuk” days). We have some great talent out there, but too many of the players are taking shifts off - even tho’ they are not at the point yet where they will admit it. Someone needs to take control of that locker room and hold players accountable. Too many new faces in too short a period of time, without clear leadership, makes a poor hockey club.
I left after the second period because the play was just that poor. The stinkin’ panthers are NOT a good hockey team, and with our talent, we should have won that game 5-0 in regulation.
Very Disheartening…

Great game for Eminger. Good for Arty getting #1. 50 shots and a three goal comeback. Not bad

Smitty Smitty Smitty… such great saves and stops throughout a game… but a mental block on shootouts! Is there any way to bring in Olie just for the shootout?
Go Bolts!!! I am still with you and support you. Just keep showing the physical intensity and desire to win!

I wish they had more of the games on TV so I could actually see how the play is going. Reading about it just isn’t the same.
