Bucified Fan and Partner Joshua Newhouse, on Game Day a “ Ray JAY 12-13-09
This week’s Bucified Blog is edited by the 6th Grade Crew of Dowdell Middle Magnet School’s DTV Morning Show….
My fanatical friends, before I explain why I was so far off with my prediction last week against the Jets, I let me talk about my reason for being Bucified. I really enjoy keeping my mothers legacy alive. In my mind daily is a tug-a-war going on between good thoughts and bad thoughts, because of my love for being a positive role model to the students who are fans of the character Bucified Bert, my actions in all situations must reflect that the positive thoughts are winning the tug-a-war that goes on in my head. In me, you see the people skills inherited from my mother, combined with knowledge gained working for a media company that deals in mass communication. My mother used to say, “Talk the talk and walk the walk”. The reward is the students who look up to Bucified, that are DREAM SEEKERS! I can help them be all they are trying to be in life. The Dream Seeker Program will make a lot of students happy, I want to be SANTA for holidays, cause OLE IS ALIVE in 2009 and we want to finish off this great year on a super high note for my mother Emma- Lee The Legend!!!
Now about the Bucs, Jets game I really am a little superstitious. The Jets won but this is truly how I feel, I get “Fanatical to be Phenomenal” in the community. I try hard to keep the two missions apart. My last blog was edited by students I have been working with, not knowing that their teacher Mr. Newhouse was a Jets Fan! We teamed up years ago, and worked with thousands of students, and we will continue our partnership in 2010. I said all that, to say it was my fault that the Bucs lost, because I truly believe that that teacher Mr. Newhouse who was at the game gave us bad luck, because we played too flat!
Now that we are playing the Seattle Seahawks, it makes sense to use the same teacher. I know he will back us up this week, and the rest of the season my fanatical friends. I am so scared to use another one of my schools for fear of history repeating itself! Seattle is not that good, our Bucs head coach Raheem, has an idea of how to play to game plan for Josh “# 5” Freeman’s strong areas; Look for the Bucs to clip the Seahawks wings Sunday at 1:00pm…
My Prediction Seahawks 14 Bucs 24
Response by Mr. Newhouse: “Mr. Bucified Bert came to see me at the Bucs-Jets game last week despite the fact that it was a losing effort. I thought that showed a lot of class, whereas he could have just “forgotten” where I was sitting. As always he handled himself with dignity and even insisted on a picture with this humble librarian. As a long-time fan of the Jets I have seen my share of rough spots with the team, but I think Tampa Bay’s defense is showing the glimmer of hope that this will not be a long-term drought by Bucified’s Bucs! Thanks sir, for all of your efforts on behalf of students across the Tampa Bay area and for being a classy person in the face of life’s adversity.”
